It Starts

Dungeons and Dragons has this stigma that it can't seem to shake. Unlike computer games or computer programming which turned into the cool thing to do, Dungeons and Dragons has always been what nerds do when all the lights are out except the black light. A murder of nerds gather together whilst the world sleeps. Cheetos and Mountain Dew are the food of choice in urban legends.

I disagree with these stereotypes. When I play it's usually a close group of friends that allows for you to feel comfortable. That's imperative. You cannot play D&D without people you're comfortable just having fun. Also, playing in the evening and being over 21 has it's benefits. Alcohol is the oil of D&D. It helps people relax and think differently about situations. One last point is get a dungeon master who enjoys it. I've DMed before and I'm not especially good at it. I try to figure out every detail and it doesn't work that way. You need a creative thinker who can think on their toes as well. Toby and AJ are two of the best and if you ever have a chance and want to play, hit them up.
