Nerve Wracking
First Strip Previous Strip Next Strip Latest Strip
There's something that happens when you meet the right girl. Everything just feels right. From the moment I started pursuing my girlfriend in an attempt to convince her to date me to the second I knelt down on the unforgiving rock on top of a windy hill underneath winking stars, I was comfortable. Even with this high amount of comfort, I was nervous. If there's one piece of advice that I can give to any guy it is this: Don't attempt to wing it. I knew what I wanted to say, and I still only barely mumbled the words.
This relationship was like walking in the dark. It wasn't a cold forboding dark that your scared to go out in when you're little. It's like that dark where you know where everything is, it's warm outside and wraps you up in the blanket. But all you can see is what's behind you not in front. Every step you take, you're trusting that the floor won't fall through. This was the next step, and even though every step previously had held up, it seemed like this was was the last step that might cause you to stumble.
But then she said yes, and for the next 24 hours, I only remember her. I remember her happiness, her smile and the way she looked at me like she never had before. I remember the wind cutting through my suit while I knelt down for what seemed like an eternity. But then she said yes, and immediately I was no longer cold, I could only hear her voice and everything was good.
